Programme – Day Visits, Study Tours, & Cultural Holidays  Autumn 2011

Visit to Cirencester with Christmas Market, followed by afternoon tea at the Snooty Fox in Tetbury with an early evening visit to Westonbirt Arboretum where there is an illuminated walk through the trees, plus a small Christmas market..

A visit to the popular Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust centre with its spectacular range of water birds.

E4    Wednesday 28th March      Wightwick Manor & Gardens NT

Wightwick Manor is a NT property on the outskirts of Wolverhampton with a fine collection of Pre-Raphaelite works (including Rossetti, Burne-Jones, Millais, Ford Maddox-Brown)and a superb Williams Morris collection. Built in 1887 there are William Morris interiors, Kempe stained glass and De Morgan ceramics acquired by the Mander family in the early 20th Century.  There are 17 acres of Arts and Craft gardens

Cheques for all of the above day visits are payable to Brecon U3A, pleasewrite a separate cheque for each visit and put the reference number and event name on the back.

Study Tours & cultural Holidays 2012

F1      26-30 April                                Holland & the Floriade

The Floriade World Horticultural Expo takes place only once every ten years and is one of the largest events of its kind in the world with wonderful displays of flowers, plants, trees, fruit and vegetables across a 100 acre site at Venlo in South East Holland.  The five day Executive coach tour via the Eurotunnel  includes 4 nights B & B at 4* hotel within convenient distance of Venlo and Amsterdam, dinner on the first evening, entry and full day visit to Floriade, day tour of bulbfields, visit to Amsterdam and Keukenhorf Gardens

Cost £374.50 based on 35 travelling.  Single Supplement £160  Deposit  £50

We welcome members of other U3A to join our Day Visits, Study Tours & Cultural Holidays.

Anyone attending an event organised by the travel group, day trips, short breaks or study tours must be a member of a U3A. This follows advice concerning insurance from The Third Age Trust and brings Travel into line with attendance at any other Brecon U3A special interest group. The Third Age Trust has extended this cover to include a non member attendant/carer

 PLEASE NOTE when taking part in U3A activities eg Day Visits, Short Breaks and Overseas  holidays members do so AT THEIR OWN RISK. Brecon U3A does not insure members against  personal accident or loss. Payments are non refundable, maybe transferable. Members must arrange their own Insurance Cover.
