This follows advice concerning insurance from The Third Age Trust and brings Travel into line with attendance at any other Brecon U3A special interest group. Summer Term starts on 15th April 2010 The Rosemary Maling Lecture Day 2010 will be held on Thursday 30th September Speakers Prof. Granville Price nd Dr Cliff Arnall Cost £7.50 for all visitors, usual cost to Brecon U3A members who supply the buffet lunch. 2009 was the 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR of BRECON U3A A very successful Rosemary Maling Memorial Lecture Day was held on 1st October 2009 attended by members from other U3A's across Wales and our own members, around 250 people in all. We we entertained and enlightened by two very informative speakers, Professor Martin Rudwick from the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at Cambridge University speaking on "4004BC & All That: Geology & Genesis in Darwin's day & Ours" and Tom Sharpe the Curator of Palaeontology at the National Museum of Wales on "The history of Geology in Wales". It is very appropriate that in our 25th year the theme chosen was Geology as Rosemary not only founded Brecon U3A but also the South Wales Geology network.
